Why should I get lash extensions?
So, you’ve been thinking about lashes and maybe you’re still not 100% convinced it’s for you. We have a wide variety of clientele and they get lashes for a variety of reasons, most love to keep up to the latest fashion and love the look of lash extensions, sometimes the bigger the better; some are busy moms and like to skip the mascara and lash curlers and wake up looking ready to take on the world and some were cursed with blonde or fine lashes leaving them searching for their lashes each morning and relying on coats of mascara to showcase their eyes.
Do you do fills on lashes from other salons?
We hate to be indecisive, but it’s a definite maybe for this one. We know there are a lot of options out there, but just like any beauty service provider, they are not all created equally. If would like to have a fill and your lashes aren’t from Lash Affair, we ask that you first book a 15-minute complimentary consultation so we can take a close look to the application and natural lash condition. Trust us some lashes look great from a distance only to take a closer look and realize a lot of the extensions are actually applied to the eyelid, or that your natural lashes have been damaged. While some would try to “fix and fill” to give you a fuller, but not good-looking lashes, or worse yet, infection, we will not. What we will do is make a suggestion based on the individual; perhaps the lashes should come off and a new set be applied, we may suggest a removal and a break so your lashes can recoup, every individual is different. But it’s not all doom and gloom, every week we do have several clients come in for a consultation that have great lashes and we go ahead and book their fill.
I want lashes for a special occasion, when should I book my appointment?
Firstly, congratulations on your special occasion! We know that with a lot of special occasions, there is usually a lot to do and not a lot of spare time, so we recommend coming in for the full set 10 – 15 days before the occasion and then scheduling a fill a day or two beforehand. This will ensure you are used to your new look and that your lashes will look their best on the big day. For a more dramatic look, we can also put some extensions on your lowers. And, if you are one of those last minute types, you definitely wouldn’t the first to come in the day before the big event, we’ll make sure you walk out with some amazing lashes.
Do lash extensions damage my natural lashes?
While some think this is the case, it only happens if the extensions are not applied by a trained professional. There is a fine art in determining the correct curl, lash length and diameter to use on each lash, it then takes time, patience and a high level of detail to ensure each extension is perfectly placed, this is why we insist on only having highly qualified techs at our lash lounge.
How does Lash Affair differ from other lash lounges?
We know there are a lot of options available, and they range from one end of the scale to the other, but you need to figure out your best fit. All of our staff have been certified in person by some of the top lash artists, after certification they spend many hours working on their technique on models before they start to apprentice. Most of our techs have over five years of experience doing lashes and they truly love what they do, and it shows. We take the time to discuss what style of lashes is best suited to your facial structure and the look you want, we then work with the wide selection of lash lengths, diameters and curl to ensure you’re satisfied with the new look, and if there is ever a problem within the first five days we’ll correct it. In addition to the talent, our lounge offers a relaxing and inviting atmosphere along with very comfortable beds. We encourage our clients to do their research before choosing a lash salon, while some offer full sets in an hour for a low cost if you ask more questions you’ll find out this is because they add very few lashes to consider it a full set.
How should I prepare for my first appointment?
It’s always good to be prepared, and we don’t ask for much. We do ask that you arrive 5 – 10 minutes early so you’re not feeling rushed and unsettled, with no eye no mascara as it will affect the adhesive performance. If you typically wear waterproof mascara, we ask that you take a break from it for a couple days so we know it will all be gone by your appointment.
What is a lash lift?
Lash lifts are one of our favorites, making the lash curler a beauty tool of the past! Our techs will apply a rounded guard to your eyelid and carefully set your lashes against it to give you the most even lashes possible. We then carefully apply a three-step process that will leave you with curled lashes for up to eight weeks, add a tint and you may even decide to skip the mascara. This is a great option for someone that doesn’t want extensions but wants something to enhance their lashes.
